Hi there, I like your app very much because it is challenging me more than other comparable apps. But there is something bothering me a lot: lets say i want to test my chord skills with all possible chord options turned on. When i let the piano play the arpeggio it plays for example a maj7 chord in c. If i then switch to chord mode, it plays the same chord in another key. No problem with a maj7 but a huge problem with something more tricky like a 11/13... It just changes the key and this is very confusing to me. Other than that it is a beautiful app! It would be nice of you if you could fix that issue anyway.
This is the perfect supplement to the David Lucas Burge ear training cds. I used to sit tied to my keyboard for hours. Wish Id had this then so I couldve taken it with me and done my ear training in the park or coffee shop. It has all the options you could want for perfect/relative pitch ear training. A few places for improvement... - dont understand the green and red rating things. What do they mean? good, bad. I cant tell. - would love to be able to switch to a regular piano sound but I know thatd be a big addition - would love the ability to hear intervals down, not just up, and then randomly switch up/down - wish I could play the sample again anytime rather than having to wait till its faded out first - of course, stats tracking would be great Other than that, this app is wonderful and Im so happy to find something like it. Ill be spending hours with it doing the lessons from the perfect/relative pitch supercourse. No more closing my eyes and pretending I cant feel which key Ive hit. Thanks for making this.
Really great ear trainer! The only reason why I havent rated it 5/5 star is because, when in the chord mode, it doesnt show you the pitch of the chord it played after you answered it. (please, add this function, it would make this app the perfect guitar trainer!). The lack of loop playback is also a little annoying, but the overall is really great! Thanks!
Im really impressed so far. Ive tried a lot of ear training apps and this ones the best so far. Lots of options and intuitive, easy to use interface. I also like that it updates you percentages with each answer so you can keep track and try to improve your results. Very nice app. I highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing. Versatile and thorough. Worth every cent. I just have one request, in the chords section the piano chords are always really low, it doesnt change to mid and high registers, please fix that.
Hi it seems that this app does not work with iOS 10. Will developper will fix it ? Thanks.
There s only a little bug with volume for guitar, very low. Volume for piano isgood. But the arpeggio, notes, training exercises, there s a lot and neat and compact. Very useful to learn to listen to music and sounds.
This app is exactly what Ive been looking for. It provides a lot of options and customization. My only issue is while using the melody training portion the piano keys provide the wrong note name when pressed. For instance, while pressing F the answer column will show Bb, though youve pressed F.
This is by far the best app I have come across that actually has all the chords to test, scales to choose and notes to listen for. I am thoroughly impressed by how much u can test myself on this app. The only con I have with this app is that when on the melody portion, if the melody goes past the octave, you have to type it in a one octave piano. Visually, this can throw you off. Other than that, this is a wonderful app and I encourage all musicians and students to download it!!
This is an excellent resource and provides everything I was looking for in a jazz ear-training app. I use it often and see improvement regularly. The only issue I have found that MUST be fixed is in a few of the chord voicings: some of them do not include the pitches they claim to. For example, one of the guitar voicings for a Maj7#5 chord merely sounded as a second inversion major chord. This happens rather often with the more complex chords. I also find the way the arpeggios are played to be difficult to follow, but perhaps thats just me. Regardless of a few issues, the app is the best out there when compared with the others and still deserves five stars!
Its got all the "crazy" jazz chords in there. You can turn them on and off to adjust your difficulty level. Only two minor complaints: Pianos sound a little muddy, and piano arpeggios go too fast.
When compared to other apps, this falls well short of user friendliness and intuitiveness. Limited options for settings.
Started the app and there was no sound for anything. Useless.
Great design, must have been written by a musician, wow!
Very useful to guitarists to be able to hear everything on a guitar instead of a piano. Id suggest adding stats so you can track your progress along with actual tests to go along with the training. Pick this up if you play guitar and want to be able to recognize notes, intervals, and chords.
This app is great because it effectively helps you train your ear. Its also quite beautiful in its simplicity, but it does have a couple things Id work on. The first is I wish that you could press the next button before the audio finishes playing. Its kindof annoying that it doesnt let you do that, and it would cut a few seconds off your training time. It would also be nice if there was a setting for it to play the next question after you answered the first one: in some cases it would be much handier. The last thing is something you already know about. Statistics for tracking your progress. Add these features and this will be a great app! Update: Yay the buttons work!
Above average ear training app. I really wish it tested descending intervals. I also wish there was the option to test 2nds without testing 9ths, etc.
the erroneous behavior in audio playback is still present. I was excited to see the update to correct the previous problem, only to be introduced to a new flaw in audio playback. There is now a long hesitation before the next note when "next test directly" mode is active.
This is the most exhaustive chord recognition eat training app available. All the upper extensions, altered chords ect. Most apps stop at 7th & 9th chords. Well worth the money spent. The ONLY thing I really want to add is piano voicing for chord recognition drills. Guitar is great but you really need both as an improvisor. I hope to see that added in an update soon.
